For renovation projects involving operational buildings, structural safety is always the highest priority before construction begins.

TECO is honored to partner with Sao Viet Primary – Secondary – High School in providing structural safety assessment and renovation design review services for the 6th-floor renovation project. Our scope focuses on comprehensively evaluating the building’s existing condition and ensuring that the proposed renovation design fully meets technical requirements, safety standards, and construction feasibility.

Scope of Work

  • Review of architectural, structural, and MEP designs.
  • Assessment of the load-bearing capacity of slabs, beams, columns, and renovation areas.
  • Evaluation of demolition, strengthening, and structural connection solutions with the existing building.
  • Verification of consistency between design documents and the actual site conditions.
  • Review of construction methods while the building remains fully operational.
  • Recommendation of noise, dust, and safety control measures to ensure a safe learning environment for students and teachers throughout the renovation process.

On-site Survey and Testing

TECO engineers surveyed the existing conditions on site, scanned reinforcement, and tested the strength and quality of concrete in columns, beams and slabs within the renovation area, providing the basis for the load-bearing assessment and the design review.
